More than 120 ARCA valves for new bio fuel production line
Mid of this year in Freiberg/ Germany the first commercial plant for producing synthetic bio fuel from biomass (BTL – Biomass to Liquide) started operation. In the presence of the Saxon Minister President Milbradt as well as representatives from Shell, Daimler and Volkswagen the German chancellor Angelika Merkel pointed out the significance of the plant in regard to the protection of the environment.
The patented Carbo-V®-process allows the production of bio coke from biological waste, sewage sludge or rotten wood, that is gasified and converted into pure Sun-Fuel. In the years 1998 to 2001 the efficiency and environmental compatibility of the process has already been proven in a pilot plant where ARCA supplied the valves for. Because the ARCA valves have proven their reliability and compact construction, in the new plant more than 120 ARCA control valves are in use.
The plant is supposed to deliver 18 mio. litre BTL every year. BTL, in contrary to fossil Diesel, causes 90% less CO2 output and can be used in vehicles without adjustment measures.
