Hastelloy

Trade name for nickel alloy with additions of, for example, molybdenum, chromium, manganese, copper, silicon and iron in varying quantities depending on use. Hastelloy alloys provide resistance to high temperatures, acids, chlorine and chlorine compounds, molten fluorides in nuclear reactors, seawater, etc. (Hastelloy = Haynes Steel Alloy, registered trademark of Haynes Int.
